gizwiz > Finally, after being born in Brooklyn and moving to Manhattan, I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. It is such a beautiful bridge!

gizwiz > On display for only six weeks, "The Telectroscope". Based on Victorian fantasy the Telectroscope would let people in NY see people in London. Well via fiber optics, it came to life in September & October, 2008 at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge.
gizwiz > If you look at the center of the lens you can see people looking back. They're by Tower Bridge in London. People would do silly things and point in the lens at the people at the other end would imitate the silly things they saw. It was a way to know you were watching real people, not a video!
gizwiz > My dog Fairway. She LOVES snow. Likes to stick her nose in it and then throw it into the air. She breaks me up when she does that!
gizwiz > The ice crushed many of the docks with its massive power. This was the winter of 2007.
gizwiz > So when we're not dealing with monster wakes in the summer we have to worry about monster ice flows in the winter! That's my houseboat with the blue stripe off to the left. It suffered some damage.
